Johnny Depp filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife over a 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post, in which she says she is a public figure representing domestic abuse. Johnny Depp claims that even though Amber Heard never named him, his reputation and career were on the line because she was referring to the period two years prior (when she was in a relationship with Mr. Depp), when she filed for divorce and a restraining order. Depp has denied all claims of abuse and continues to defend his name. Throughout 6 weeks Mr. Depp has been fighting to clear his name to the court. Over six weeks, the televised trial showed us details about a struggling marriage and evidence that Depp and Heard showed the court was very interesting. Over the 6 weeks we saw evidence from both sides. On July 1, Mr. Depp declared that a U.S. jury gave him his life back when it awarded him an almost total victory in his defamation fight with ex-wife Amber Heard. Jurors also supported Depp’s three claims that Heard had defamed him and awarded him more than $10 million in damages. Heard won one counterclaim that Depp’s lawyer had defamed her. The jury awarded Heard $2 million. This case to Mr. Depp wasn’t about the money, it was about clearing his name.
I think that Amber Herd should be never allowed to film in Hollywood again. When women come forward with false accusations they really can ruin someones life. She should be mortified.
